What did we talk about this week?
A few key takeaways that our students learned about this past week when reading about the life of the Rich Young Ruler in Matthew 19:16-26
- Trusting Christ means releasing control. Many people struggle to fully surrender to Christ not because they do not believe He exists, but because they do not fully trust Him with their future.
- Christianity is not something you do, it is something you receive. Following Christ is not about earning your way to God through good behavior or checking the right boxes.
- Our identity is often easily misplaced. Money, popularity, athleticism, academic achievement, and social reputation are not bad in themselves, but when they become the foundation of who we are we should not be surprised when our lives crumble because our foundation is not in Christ.
